Anti-theft system for the house. Which one to choose?

It takes approx. 3 minutes to read this article

Do you want to increase security in your house or apartment? Are you considering installing an alarm system? Check what you need to know before purchase and what types of anti-burglary systems you can opt for. We encourage you to read about it!

What to consider when selecting a burglar alarm system for your home – a handful of tips

Before we move on to the types of alarm systems, it is worth, first of all, to check what to pay attention to when buying, or rather – what you need to know even before buying.

First of all you need to determine all the parameters of the house: how big it is, how many front doors and windows it has (and whether they are reinforced or otherwise protected), whether it has a balcony and what is the strength of the ceiling and walls themselves. And if you want to choose an alarm system for your apartment, then analyze on which floor you live and whether it is possible to break in through the roof. The estimated value of the equipment inside is also important.

It is also important to know in which district your house is located, whether you often go out of town, as well as whether there have been any thefts in the neighborhood and how the neighbors react to alarm sirens.

Home alarm systems – the most popular types

The answers to the above questions will allow you to better choose an anti-burglary system tailored to your needs, expectations and lifestyle. Therefore, we present the most popular types.

Intrusion Detection System (SSWiN)

This anti-burglary system can be wireless (does not require wiring, you can use it at any time) or wired (ideal when the house is raw or before renovation).

Both are equally effective and the security is provided by components, namely the control panel, various sensors, keypad (for contact with the central unit), alarm siren and emergency power supply (necessary when the power goes out).

SSWiN detects circumstances that could potentially lead to dangerous situations, for example, by registering the entry of an unauthorized person into your premises.

Wired systems

There is also a standard wired system. In this, detectors and sensors are connected via cables and distributed throughout all rooms. It is best to opt for a flush or surface-mounted installation. What is important is that there are sound and light signals outside the building. Wired burglar alarm systems are reliable and work well in many situations. We recommend planning the deployment of cables already at the stage of house construction.

Wireless systems

There is also a wireless system, which – as the name suggests – does not require running wires. So it will be perfect for finished houses and apartments, especially because it does not require forging walls. All components of a wireless system are connected to each other by radio and powered by batteries. It is not worth saving on components, because they mainly affect the quality and effectiveness of the system.
